Beastman Raiders - Work in Progress

I've pulled together the beginnings of a Beastman Raider warband.  Looking forward to trying these out - particularly the Minotaur.

Heroes:

Chieftan:

This is the GW Beastlord model from Warhammer Underworlds.  I've added a skull trophy and added some stonework to the base to tie in with the rest of the warband.  Not sure whether I'll use this model as my leader yet...

Bestigors:

These guys are from the Cursed Herd by Mierce Miniatures.  I find the GW Bestigors are not really any different in size from the Gors, so I've opted to go with the larger Mierce models for my Bestigors (GW Bestigor pictured for scale).

I've added some more skull trophies (a running theme for this warband) and based them on 40mm 'Ruins' resin bases by Back 2 Base-ix.

Centigor:

This is the only heavily converted mini in the warband. The starting point is a Centaur model from Scibor (part of their chaos dwarf range).  I've done a head swap with a GW one from the plastic Bestigor kit, a shield swap with a GW one from the plastic Gor kit, and then added some skull trophies and a shield to hide the chaos dwarf iconography on the sculpt.  I created a neck from greenstuff, along with a shaggy mane and did some general gap filling.  Another resin cavalry base from Back 2 Base-ix.

Shaman:

This is another Mierce model.  I have switched the staff head to a smaller GW one and added more skull trophies from GW skull box.  This model has a cool cloak which should be fun to paint up.

Minotaur:

Scibor do some fantastic looking Minotaurs - this one is the Chieftan from their range.  I added a skull trophy and patched some gaps with greenstuff, but most of the work was getting him on to the base.  I had to carve away a spot for his lower hoof, and then stack up some rock to meet his hand.  I've shown a GW Gor for reference - it is a really big sculpt!

I'm thinking about trying to squeeze a minotaur into my starting roster - is it worth it?

Henchmen:

I've opted for 3 Gor groups - 1 with 2-handed weapons, 1 with paired hand weapons, and another with axes and shields.  All these are a mix of GW Gor and Bestigor plastic kits, with the exception of the GW Beastlord resin model (which I may end up using as my Chieftan).

The henchmen groups are rounded out with some Warhounds of Chaos.  These are more Mierce miniatures.  I've opted not to add the horns as they were too fiddly.

All the henchmen groups have been based on matching resin bases from Back 2 Base-ix.

And that is it!  Hopefully enough minis for a full campaign.  I'll get these painted up over the coming weeks and draft up a bit of a backstory for the warband too.
