Mordheim Board - Docks Pt II
Slow but steady progress continues on the Mordheim docks board. I have a long weekend and I am making the most of it!! I've completed all the required vertical bricking and buttresses on the landside and riverside and am looking forward to working on the jetties and ships.
The lower tier is complete (subject to some additional sand/grout/rubble) including the stonework on the walls. I used the same technique as I did for the roads - 1 x 2 cm pieces of cork and card stuck with wood glue. I then come back in and create buttresses out of the thicker 6mm cork tiles. I used the distance between buttresses on the right for the rest of the board so it looked consistent (~5.5cm gaps).
I find it helps to flip the board onto its side to lay the vertical bricks. It also stops them from sliding down the wall if there is a lot of glue underneath.
Here is the board from the other side. You can see the dock area with some the 3d printed boats I'm going to use. The next step is to make jetties (and a wrecked ship) out of stir sticks and balsa. I'm also thinking of a little fishing shack on the end of the jetty similar to Vermintide.
